Five Kitten Steps to Purr-Fect Black Cat Eyeliner - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I love the look of crisp black cat eyeliner…
And that's not just considering I'thousand a carte-carrying CCL (although I admit that'southward a contributing gene).
I just retrieve information technology'southward timeless, elegant and pretty much goes with everything.
Still, sometimes, similar when Tabs is threatening to shred my ankles if I don't immediately drib everything I'yard doing to prepare his morning gravy, I'k not in the mood to concentrate and fuss over getting those jagged edges well-baked and clean.
So, what's a liner-loving cat lady to do when she wants a cool cat eyeliner wait simply doesn't have the wherewithal to fret over getting abrupt, crisp lines?
Answer: comprise a black pulverisation eyeshadow into her cat eyeliner routine by following these 5 easy steps.
i. Now we're gel-ing!
When I practise this play tricks, which is a path to a softer, easier cat eyeliner wait, I start by lining my eyes with gel liner using an angled liner brush, and the manner information technology turns out, you lot tin can probably meet that the edges could apply some extra refining.
2. Clean that brush
Gotta make sure my tools are in tip-top shape for this next part, then before smoothing out the edges I created in step i, I clean the same angled liner brush I just used by swiping it across a newspaper towel to remove whatsoever excess production.
3. Loading zone
Next, I load the brush with a black powder eyeshadow, and tap the head confronting something (like the side of the sink, or I'll just tap information technology with my finger) to remove some of the excess and any petty wayward $.25.
Products I used for these pics…
- Gel liner — Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
- Black eyeshadow — NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Sycorax
- Angled eyeliner castor — NARS Angled Eyeliner Castor 47
4. Bristling with powder
If I can see any wayward bits or heavy areas of pulverization on the brush, I work the shadow into the bristles amend by making little circles on the dorsum of my hand with the castor, which prevents that extra eyeshadow from dropping downward on my cheeks, and as well makes for an overall smoother application.
5. Run! Run!
Finally, I run the now-loaded brush along the border of the blackness liner to smooth it out, and if I experience like it, also utilize the shadow to extend the flick at the finish.
If need exist, I'll add another layer or two, but nigh of the time one is enough.
The end result? A kinder, gentler (read: easier) cat liner look that's definitely non equally crisp as if I'd spent the fourth dimension dutifully perfecting the edges with gel liner…just it still gets the point across.
Incidentally, this flim-flam works with liquid liner, also. 🙂
